Hi -

I put myself through engineering school with the help of part-time work and
student loans.  I graduated with a 3.75 undergraduate GPA and a 3.80 masters
degree GPA.  I am the eldest of six children and the first in my family to
attend college.

I have about $19,000 in student loans debt and I would really appreciate any
amount of help.  My parents are not in a position to help me with college
expenses, as my father has a blue-collar position and my mother is not employed.
 I have worked very hard from an early age delivering papers, working in the
local berry-picking fields, working in a shoe store and working for a department
store in order to save money.  This has helped considerably, as I was able to
pay for most of my tuition, room and board, but not for all of it.

I also tutor at-need high school students at the local high school.  I have
always excelled in mathematics and the sciences, so I like to see others succeed
who just need a little help.

My engineering focus is on renewable power generation.  I am very interested in
"green" power generation, as I think it is important to have clean, abundant
energy production in order for society to continue to advance.  After completing
my PhD, I would like to either teach at the college level or perhaps do research
for a company committed to protection of the environment.
